The Boulevard Haussmann is one of the main avenues in the city of Paris. When Paris was still a medium-sized cities, this avenue represented the border between the city and its outskirts. The Boulevard Haussmann is currently located in the middle of the Saint Lazare district, a few metres from the train station. It is full of department stores including the famous Printemps and Galleries Lafayette, (their first branches in this street were built in the late nineteenth century). They are magnificent 6 floors buildings, which are worth a visit just for their decorations. You can find here the biggest brands such as C & A and H & M Paris. The avenue is two kilometres long and crosses the eighth and ninth district. It 's also the street where are located the largest banks such as: Société Générale, BNP and Credit Lyonnais and Paribas.
It is possible to visit the ground floor of these magnificent buildings, decorated in old style. The avenue take its name from the Baron Hussamann which expanded the streets of Paris. Book a hostel in Paris and have a walk on the Boulevard Haussmann!!
