Stencil Art in Paris

Walking through the Latin Quarter of Paris, between old book stores and second hand clothes shops, it's easy to be fascinated by scents and colours, but it is also easy to find original drawn on walls. Jef Aerosol, Blek le Rat, Miss Tics, and Jero Mesnager are the names of some  great street artists who in the early 80's have started a particular form of street art, that of the stencil.
In the eyes of those who still manages to fly with the fantasy, these stencils reveal their true nature: living works that exist and resist to time interacting with the real world in a dynamic and ironic way.
Of course, like all works of art, these designs have the ability to open out in front of the observer taking the most varied forms of interpretation. The stencil art in Paris perfectly embodies the style of street art. For those who want to know more, there is an interesting reference site full of pictures and videos : bleklerat.free.fr / stencil graffiti.html.

The Smoking Museum of Paris

For the first time in Paris,a permanent exhibition collects objects, plants and works that testify  a widespread practice in all continents: smoking. The typical objects of the smoker, in  different times and places, are mixed with various plants.
The plants that are smoked every day are grown and displayed in a Plantarium, a place that shows the steps of drying and fermentation of the leaves, operations required before you can inhale the smoke. Located in the Bastille district, a few steps from the Rue de la Roquette, the Smoking  Museum  is a convivial place dedicated to this ancestral practice.
In 2001, two editors, Michka Seeliger and Tigranes Hadengue, transformed an old butcher in a museum dedicated to tobacco. In here you'll find numerous models of pipe, narguilés in an atmosphere that is intoxicated by the smell of tobacco dried leaves.
Not to be missed is a gallery of drawings and paintings of smokers who witness  the evolution of the uses and legislation of tobacco. A small area of the museum is dedicated to books, magazines, comic books and CDs devoted to the world of smoking. Find accommodation in Paris and visit the Smoking Museum.

Matisse, Pairs and series, an art exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris

It will be on display from March 7 to June 18, 2012 at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the works of French artists a more sensitive, introspective and perceptive of the twentieth century, Henri Matisse.

The exhibition entitled Matisse -Pairs and series- is well structured as it is very small, you can see it in about an hour, but still full of known masterpieces and hand of the artist known that allow you to approach the painting of Matisse also less skilled in the art.

During the tour the visitor, apart from observing the paintings of Matisse, in fact, be able to go deep and understand the approach that the author turned to his picture and the theme that he had decided to deal with.

Matisse analyzed the perception of the mind than the external impulses and similarly sought to control, in the making of art, the impulses that the brain gave the hand to give a representation of something.

This led him to abandon definitely not an issue to want to be so easily if he failed the first to express the essence.

For this reason the exhibition Matisse, copy number and the viewer is confronted with the copy and series some pictures of a single theme, addressed by the artist until his deeper understanding of the framework.

Who had the good fortune to visit Paris in this beautiful time of year, we suggest staying in one of the many guest houses Paris near the Centre Pompidou in Paris and of course you do not miss the Matisse exhibitionPairs and series.
